This Is Not A Tourist Tour.

The Extreme Andros Experience

No beach chairs. No cocktail hours. No paved paths.

This is raw Andros, the untouched interior that most visitors never see and most guides won't take you to. You will navigate rivers that don't appear on maps, descend into blue holes that have gone unnamed for centuries, and push through jungle terrain that will test everything you've got.

If you are not physically prepared, do not book this tour. The nearest hospital is hours away. This experience is designed for people who understand that.

Duration: Full Day (8 to 10 hours)

Your Guide: Captain Hardy McKinney

Hardy McKinney isn't just a guide. He's one of Andros' finest boat captains and navigators

A third-generation Andronian, born and raised in South Andros, Hardy comes from one of the island's most storied families. The McKinney name has been woven into the fabric of South Andros for over a century, a lineage of fishermen, captains, and community builders who have worked these waters and this land longer than most can remember.

Hardy is a licensed captain, a master fisherman, and one of the most respected voices in the South Andros community. He has spent his life on these waters and exploring the untapped nature of the island, not as a tourist, not as a researcher, but as someone who belongs here. He knows where the hidden blue holes are because his grandfather showed him. He knows the river because he's run it since he was a boy.

Beyond guiding, Hardy is a community leader and active conservationist who has pushed for the protection of Andros's marine ecosystems on an international stage. He doesn't just love this island. He fights for it.

When Hardy takes you into the bush, you are not following a script. You are following a man who has dedicated his life to understanding one of the most biodiverse and least-explored places on earth.

What You'll Experience

01

🚤 Deep Creek River Expedition

Your day begins on the water. Hardy navigates you deep into the creek system of South Andros, a labyrinth of mangrove channels, tidal flows, and inland waterways that most visitors never enter. As the creek narrows and the jungle closes in around you, civilization disappears. This is Andros as it has existed for thousands of years.

02

🕳️ Hidden Blue Holes, Unseen by Most

Andros is home to more blue holes than anywhere on earth, over 150 inland and counting. The ones on the tourist maps? Those are the easy ones.

Hardy will take you to blue holes that are not on any map. Sites accessed through dense jungle, unmarked trails, and local knowledge passed down through generations. You will swim in water so clear it looks unreal, surrounded by nothing but jungle canopy and silence. Some of these holes have been seen by only a handful of people outside the local community.

03

🌿 Extreme Jungle Trekking

Andros's interior is one of the most ecologically dense environments in the Caribbean, dense pine forest, mangrove thicket, limestone karst terrain, and undergrowth that does not yield easily. This is not a nature walk. You will be pushing through terrain that requires endurance, sure footing, and mental toughness.

Expect heat. Expect mud. Expect to earn every step.

01

🎣 Wilderness Survival Fishing

In the heart of the expedition, Hardy demonstrates traditional Bahamian fishing techniques passed down through his family, reading water, identifying species by movement, and catching food the old way. You may participate or observe. Either way, you will leave with a deeper understanding of how Androsians have survived and thrived in this environment for generations.

02

🦎 Wildlife & Ecosystem Immersion

Andros is home to species found nowhere else on earth. Hardy will point out endemic birds, native reptiles, medicinal plants used by Bahamian communities for centuries, and geological formations carved by water over millennia. This is not a biology lecture. It's living knowledge from someone who grew up inside it.
